From Teaching to Trade: My China Business Tour Experience

Teaching has always been part of who I am. My mother was a teacher, and from early on I felt a natural responsibility—not just to learn, but to share what I learn with others. One principle has guided me throughout my journey: I only teach what I’ve truly experienced myself. I started with electrical engineering because that’s where my foundation was strong—I had studied it deeply, worked in the field, and understood both the theory and the real-world application. But as my career evolved, so did what I had to offer.

When I launched my company, EvTech, in the EV industry, I stepped into a completely different world—one filled with real business challenges that no textbook could fully prepare you for. I had to figure out marketing, sales, sourcing, imports, logistics, and everything in between through hands-on experience. Through trial, error, and persistence, the business grew to over $1M in annual sales. I learned a lot from that journey and, as always, tried to share those lessons with others through workshops and classes. Over time, this naturally shifted my teaching beyond theory into practical business, marketing, and international trade. And while working with many SMEs, I started to notice a clear pattern—many were great at selling, especially online, but lacked direct access to manufacturers. In simple terms, they were leaving money on the table.

Starting China Business Course

After teaching sales and marketing for many years, I realized that many business owners knew how to sell—but not how to source efficiently. They were doing well, but they could do much better with direct access to manufacturers.

So I decided to do something practical.

In partnership with the Iran-China Chamber of Commerce and Future Expert Institute, I designed a China Business Course—not just as a training program, but as a real business experience.

We start with focused classes on sourcing from China, shipping, customs procedures, as well as Chinese language and culture. Once participants are prepared, we travel to China together to experience everything in a real business environment.

During the trip, we visit the Canton Fair—the most important export exhibition in China—and explore key business cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Yiwu, Shanghai, and Beijing. The goal is simple: to give participants a practical, hands-on understanding of international trade.

Throughout the entire journey, my team and I stay closely involved—helping participants make confident purchasing decisions and guiding them step by step through shipping and customs clearance to ensure everything runs smoothly.

So far, around 70 business owners have joined this journey across two tours in October 2024 and April 2025. It has been a great experience—not just for the participants, but for me as well—and a strong reminder that the best way to learn is by doing.
