From Planning Studies to Real-Time Operation

Traditionally, power system planning and operations were treated as separate domains. Today, that boundary is disappearing. Decisions made during interconnection studies directly affect real-time controllability and operational risk.

As a result, utilities and ISOs are demanding more practical, operation-aware studies—especially for large loads like data centers and grid-scale storage. Planning engineers must increasingly think like operators.
